The Ducks took the early lead over the Sun Devils with a 10-3 run to begin the game. Arizona State came to within one point at 10-9, but the Ducks then went on a 13-0 run to extend the lead to 14 points. Oregon had a double-digit lead the rest of the game with the biggest lead coming at 95-50.
The Ducks did suffer a tough loss less than a minute into the game. Freshman forward Brianne Meharry went down at 19:20 with an injury to her left knee.
But another freshman stepped up and took control of the game. Angelina Wolvert finished with career highs in points (26) and rebounds (12). Wolvert did the most damage in the second half with 21 points despite sitting out the final six minutes.
The last time Oregon scored 100 or more points was on March 2, 1991 in a victory over Arizona. The most points the Ducks have scored in the Jody Runge era was 97 against Arizona State in 1994.
Oregon made it to 98 points thanks to a layin from Nicole Strange with 1:59 to go then sealed the feat on a Strange inside jumper with 19 seconds.
Besides Wolvert, Oregon had four additional players in double digits in scoring. Natasha O'Brien had 17, Natalie Hughes scored 14, and Sonja Curtis and Mendy Benson came off the bench to score 11 and 10, respectively.
The Ducks also had a stellar game on defense, collecting 13 steals and forcing 30 turnovers (including 18 in the first half). Oregon also outrebounded the Sun Devils, 40-28.
"Everybody did the things we worked on in practice and when we subbed we didn't lose the level of play," Oregon head coach Jody Runge said.
For Arizona State, Kisha White and Kristine Sand each scored 12 points.
The win gives the Ducks a record of 10-6 overall and 6-2 in the Pacific-10 Conference. The Sun Devils drop to 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the Pac-10.
Next up for Oregon is the first Civil War matchup of the season when the Ducks travel to Corvallis to take on Oregon State on Thursday night.
