"I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity to take a step forward in my leadership role with Sun Devil Women’s Golf. A massive thank you goes to Coach Farr-Kaye for believing in me and our players for trusting in me. Golf (@SunDevilWGolf) April 3, 2025 Tatman joined Arizona State after spending the past three seasons as an Assistant Coach at Tulsa. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to join the Sun Devil Family,” Tatman reflected in 2023. “Since my junior golf days, I've always had an incredible amount of respect for Coach Farr-Kaye and Arizona State Women’s Golf. The vision of this program is inspiring and I can't wait to get to work and contend for National Championships. Forks Up!” During her time with the Golden Hurricane, Tatman was a big part of the resurgence of the traditional power. Working alongside Tulsa Head Coach Annie Young, she helped lead the program to an appearance at the NCAA Championship hosted by Arizona State at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale. It was the first appearance in the NCAA Championship in 15 years for the Golden Hurricane.   “Coach Tatman brings a tremendous amount of energy, understands the importance of connecting with alum, and is extremely passionate about the game,” Farr-Kaye mentioned. “We are lucky to have her joining the Sun Devil Family."   Coming off a season in which she helped Tulsa earn six Top-3 finishes and two tournament victories, Tatman’s knack for recruiting and advanced knowledge of the game has allowed her to establish a reputation as one of the most promising young coaches at the collegiate level. Farr-Kaye identified her early in the process as the perfect candidate for the position.   “She is one of the fastest-rising coaches in the industry because of her ability to build relationships and develop student-athletes on and off the course.” Farr-Kaye added. “Arizona State was the place she wanted to be. That made her the ideal fit for this role.”   Tatman comes from a program with two NCAA Championships and joins one with a record eight NCAA Championships. She knows what it takes to win at a program with expectations. In her three seasons with Tulsa, they won six tournament titles, five stroke play and one match-play event. The signature victory came at the American Athletic Conference Championship, where Tulsa clinched an automatic bid into the postseason by winning the league title in her first season. Tulsa finished their season at the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2007-08 with a lot of the credit going towards Tatman’s roster building. The Golden Hurricane immediately reaped the benefits of her recruiting efforts, featuring a loaded roster of underclassmen.   The coaching of Tatman was also integral in the improvement of All-Conference selection senior Lilly Thomas, the third straight year she received the honor under Tatman’s tutelage. Following the 2021-22 season, she was joined by Golden Hurricane freshman and Phoenix native Sydney Seigel on the All-Conference team. In 2020-21, standout Lorena Tseng breakout campaign resulted in her earning the distinction along with Thomas, giving Tulsa five All-Conference selections during Tatman’s tenure. Soon after the season, Tseng would qualify for the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open.   Not only has the Tulsa Women’s Golf program been elevated on the course, but high expectations in the classroom have been met. Tatman and Young established a strong culture that prioritized academics, with a plethora of members of the program earning All-Conference Academic and WGCA All-American Scholar honors.    Tatman joins an Arizona State program with a tradition unrivaled in the sport. When Missy Farr-Kaye led the Sun Devils to their eighth national title in 2017, ASU set a new record for championships in the sport. The program continues to compete for hardware on an annual basis. The 2023-24 team is loaded with talent returning from a team that finished Top-15 in the nation last year. With a roster featuring three-time All-American Ashley Menne and four Pac-12 All-Conference performers, Tatman will have plenty to work with during her first season in Tempe.   Before her stint at Tulsa, Tatman spent two years as an assistant coach at the University of Denver, where she was an integral part of leading the Pioneers to a Summit League Conference Championship in 2019. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Tatman was responsible for event management of the annual Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate.   Tatman played collegiately at Colorado State University from 2011-16. At the conclusion of her career, she boasted the 10th best stroke average in school history at 77.96, while earning Mountain West scholar-athlete accolades and WGCA All-American Scholar honors for three seasons.   Before her coaching stint began at Denver, Tatman was a staff instructor and junior golf leader for ExperienceGolf in Aurora, Colorado. At ExperienceGolf, Tatman helped develop and run one of the most successful junior development programs in the state. She also worked an internship at the Colorado Golf Association in 2017.   Tatman received her bachelor's degree in human development and family studies from Colorado State in 2016.
