Freshman (2024)

  • Finished the season with four appearances, compiling 13 saves and two steals
  • Started in the cage against Cal State Fullerton, tallying four saves in the 15-10 win. (Feb. 17)
  • Appeared in one game during the ASU invitational. She managed to save three shots attempted and racked up one steal against Ottawa-AZ on Feb. 11.
  • Appeared in two games this weekend at the Cross Conference challenge. As a goalkeeper, she recorded eight saves as well as one steal combined in those two games

Prior to coming to Tempe:

Erika Staine is a goalkeeper out of Schurr High School, the same school current senior goalkeeper Itzahiana Baca graduated from. She was a two sport athlete at Schurr as a member of both varsity water polo and swim since 2019. In high school Staine was a two time Outstanding Defensive Player (2018, 2021) and was back-to-back Almont League Champion in 2021 and 2022. Staine was also selected for the Olympic Development Program Coastal Zone Cadet Red Team in 2021, and the Coastal Zone Youth Red Team in 2022.
