FEDERAL WAY, Wash.--Senior Rebecca Ejdervik won her third-consecutive conference title in the 100 breast, Friday night, at the 2012 Pac-12 Championships in Federal Way, Wash. With her victory, Ejdervik becomes the first women's swimmer in Arizona State history to win three titles in the same event.
Earning the middle lane after swimming the top time in the preliminaries, Ejdervik touched in for first place with a time of 59.77, two one hundredths of a second faster than Arizona's Ellyn Baumgardner.
Seniors Elina Eggers and Cameron Bradshaw each took home silver medals in the men's and women's diving events. Eggers scored a total of 360.15 points in the women's 3-meter springboard to take second place for the second-straight season. Bradshaw finished in second place on the men's 3-meter springboard with a total of 398.50.
Junior Shannon Landgrebe set a new Arizona State record in the 200 free, replacing her previous mark from the year before. Landgrebe took fourth place in the event with an NCAA consideration time of 1:44.61. Junior Cassie Morrice also swam an NCAA consideration time in the event, touching in with a time of 1:46.83 to finish in 10th place.
Junior Caroline Kuczynski finish one spot out of medal contention in the 100 butterfly. Kuczynski, scoring 26 points for the ASU, swam the event in an NCAA consideration time of 52.44 to take fourth place. The junior also bested her time from last season for the third-best time in school history.
The ASU 400 medley relay of Kelli Kyle, Ejdervik, Kuczynski and Landgrebe finished in fifth place with a time of 3:35.11 to score 50 points for the Sun Devils. The NCAA consideration time is also the second-best time in school history.
Senior Kelli Kyle took sixth place in the 100 back with an NCAA consideration time of 52.66. Junior Mattie Kukors finished in eighth place in the 400 IM finals to earn 22 points for the Sun Devils. Kukors swam the event in an NCAA consideration time of 4:12.86.
Arizona State is in sixth place heading into the third day of the Pac-12 Championships in Federal Way, Wash.
