A school record 15 Arizona State Sun Devils were drafted in the 2008 Major League Baseball draft, including two First Rounders. Brett Wallace went #13 overall to the St. Louis Cardinals, while Ike Davis went #18 overall to the New York Mets. has now had 24 players taken in the first round of the draft all-time and leads all schools with 367 players taken since the draft began in 1965.
Wallace and Davis are the sixth set of Sun Devil teammates to be picked in the first round of the draft, and the first since Ryan Bradley and Dan McKinley in 1997. Travis Buck was the last Sun Devil to go in the first round, going 36th overall in the 2005 draft to the Oakland Athletics.
The modern record for players selected in the MLB Draft was 12 in 2003.
