STANFORD, Calif. – Remy Martin (24 points) and Alonzo Verge Jr. (19 points) combined for 43 points to help lead the Arizona State men's basketball team to 74-69 win over Stanford on Thursday night. The win gave ASU its first four-game winning streak in Pac-12 play since the 2009-10 season.
 
Kimani Lawrence added 11 points for the Sun Devils (16-8, 7-4 Pac-12), who shot 55 percent and won for the sixth time in seven games.
 
Verge (seven rebounds), Romello White (six rebounds) and Jalen Graham (five rebounds) accounted for 18 of ASU's rebounds in helping the Sun Devils outrebound the Cardinal 30-21.

The Sun Devils had the advantage on the scoreboard for nearly 38 minutes, and led by as many as 14 points, 31-17, after Martin's layup capped a 19-4 ASU run with just over five minutes left in the first half. 
 
The Cardinal (16-8, 5-6) was able to make up half the deficit with a 12-5 run over the last five minutes to cut ASU's lead to 36-29 at the half. Martin (13 points) and Lawrence (10 points) combined for 23 of ASU's 36 points over the first 20 minutes.

A 3-pointer by Jaelen House with 13:15 remaining helped the Sun Devils answer a 7-1 run by Stanford that had gotten it within four points.
 



Martin's 3-pointer gave ASU 68-57 lead with 5:34 left, but Stanford's Tyrell Terry, who led the Cardinal with 24 points, scored the last six points of an 8-0 run that made it a one-possession game after Terry's basket cut ASU's lead to 68-65 with 2:14 left.
 
Neither team was able to score until Martin's hoop gave ASU a 70-65 lead with 31 seconds remaining. Rob Edwards (2-2 FTs) and Martin (2-2 FTs) then closed the show by combining to go 4-4 from the line in the final 17 seconds.
 
ASU closes out its road trip to the Bay Area on Sunday (3 p.m. PST/4 p.m. MST) when it plays at Cal. The game can be seen on ESPNU and heard on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.
