TEMPE, Ariz. – More preseason accolades continue to pour in for a pair of Sun Devils, who earned a spot on the ANNIKA Award Watch List, as announced on golfchannel.com last week.
Senior Olivia Mehaffey and freshman Linn Grant were awarded two of 25 spots on the Golf Channel's Preseason Contenders list for the ANNIKA Award. The ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is awarded annually to the most outstanding women's college golfer, as voted on by players, coaches and media.
Ranked in order of the most likely candidates to win the award this season, Mehaffey landed at No. 10 on the list, with Grant sitting right behind her at 11. A season ago, Mehaffey played outstanding down the stretch on her way to being named one of ten finalists for the 2018-19 award. The highly-touted Grant is the highest-ranked freshman on the list.
Arizona State is one of only three schools to have two golfers in the Top-11, joined by fellow Pac-12 teams USC and Stanford. The Sun Devils and Wake Forest were the only two schools to have two individuals selected to the watch list. Texas, Duke, USC and Stanford all had three or more golfers in the Top 25 contenders.

This is the second honor that both Mehaffey and Grant have received in the preseason. Golfweek tabbed Mehaffey as a First Team All-American and Grant as a Second Team honoree and Top 10 Freshman to Watch last week.
