Oregon State snapped a 16-game losing streak in Sun Devil Stadium that stretched back to 1969 as they defeated the Sun Devils 28-17 on Saturday. The loss drops ASU to 2-2 overall, 0-1 in the Pac-10.

The Rodgers brothers led the Oregon State offense, as James had 10 catches for 114 yards and a touchdown while Jacquizz ran for 81 yards on 17 carries and had two touchdowns in the first quarter to put the Beavers up 14-0.

James Rodgers' 25-yard touchdown reception came on the first play of the second quarter, giving the Beavers a 21-3 lead at halftime.

The Sun Devils answered on the opening drive of the third quarter, going on a 10-play, 77-yard drive that was capped by a one-yard touchdown run by running back Dimitri Nance.

However, Oregon State's defense forced ASU to punt on its next three possessions, and the Beavers put the game away in the fourth quarter with a two-yard touchdown pass from Sean Canfield to Damola Adeniji.

The Sun Devils added a score late in the fourth, as Danny Sullivan found Kyle Williams for a 12-yard touchdown with 11 seconds remaining to finish off a 22-play, 94-yard drive.

The game did feature career nights for Sullivan and senior wide receiver Chris McGaha. Sullivan had his first career 300-yard passing game, going 32-of-58 for 338 yards on the night.

McGaha posted career-highs with 15 catches for 165 yards. The 15 receptions are the second most in a game in ASU history, behind only Ron Fair's 19 catches against Washington State in 1989.

Defensively, senior safety Jarrell Holman intercepted a pass in the third quarter, giving him three interceptions in the last two games. Holman and linebacker Mike Nixon each posted a team-high seven tackles.

True freshman linebacker Vontaze Burfict was one of five Sun Devils to make their first collegiate start in the game, joining redshirt freshman safety Keelan Johnson, sophomore defensive end James Brooks, sophomore wide receiver T.J. Simpson and senior offensive lineman Brent Good.

The Sun Devils will now head to Pullman, Wash., to face Washington State on Saturday.
