TEMPE, Ariz. - The 16th ranked UCLA Bruins picked up a victory in straight sets over the Arizona State Sun Devils Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena. All three games were close, as UCLA won 30-28, 30-26 and 30-27.

Arizona State falls to 7-18 on the year, 2-13 in Pac-10 play. The Bruins improved to 17-8, 9-6 in the conference.

Junior outside hitter Nicole Morton (Fallbrook, Calif) and freshman outside hitter Margie Giordano (Glendale, Ariz.) each led the Sun Devils with 14 kills. Sophomore libero Sydney Donahue (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) continued her quest for the ASU digs record, notching 15 Friday. Donahue needs 61 digs over the final three matches to set the school record, currently held by Mindy Gowell with 601 in 1990.

UCLA was led by Caitlin Meriwether's 18 kills and Nellie Spicer's 44 assists. The Bruins recorded a team hitting percentage of .321, while the Sun Devils had a .258 hitting percentage.

ASU will host the USC Women of Troy on Saturday night at 7:00 pm at Wells Fargo Arena. It will be Senior Night, as ASU honors seniors Giovana Melo and Sarah Watkins, who will be making their final appearances at Wells Fargo Arena.
