TEMPE, Ariz. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- Led by double-doubles from outside hitters Kim Glass and Jennifer Abernathy, the No. 12 Arizona Wildcats defeated rival Arizona State in straight sets Friday night in Pac-10 volleyball action at Wells Fargo Arena. Game scores were 30-22, 30-26, 30-26 in favor of the Wildcats.

Arizona improves to 12-2 overall and 4-1 in league play. The Sun Devils dropped their fourth straight match to fall to 6-9 overall and 1-4 in Pac-10 action. The match can be viewed on a tape-delayed basis Sunday at 1 p.m. on FSN Arizona with Chris McGee and Holly McPeak calling all the action.

Junior middle blocker Tierra Burnley (Santa Clarita, Calif.) led the Sun Devils with nine kills and one block. Freshman Margie Giordano (Glendale, Ariz.) added eight kills and eight digs. Sophomore middle blocker Staci Smith (Gresham, Ore.) had a career high six service aces. Pac-10 digs leader Sydney Donahue did not start for the first time this season and was limited to only eight digs, ending her streak of double-digit digs matches at 15.

Glass led all players with 17 kills and added 10 digs. Abernathy also recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs. Setter. Amy Dyck led all players with 45 assists.

The Sun Devils return to action next weekend hosting California (Thursday, Oct. 13) and Stanford (Friday, Oct. 14) at Wells Fargo Arena. Both matches start at 7 p.m.
