Arizona State Wrestler Earns Top Honors in Tournament

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State senior wrestler Aaron Simpson was named the "Wrestler of the Tournament" of the Cliff Keen/NCWA National Duals held in Iowa City on January 17 and 18.
Simpson, at 177 pounds, went 5-0 in Saturday and Sunday's action, including wins over the fourth- and 11th-ranked wrestlers in the country.
With this tournament, Simpson's record is now 21-2 on the season and 13-0 in dual matches. He is ranked second in the country.
The Sun Devils wrestlers return to action Friday, Jan. 23, when they travel to California to take on Cal Poly-SLO. The next home match is Friday, Jan. 30, when they host Oregon at 7 p.m. in the University Activity Center.
