ASU Soccer Snags Second PAC-10 Win
TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State soccer team (8-4-0, 2-0-0 Pac-10) defeated the Washington State Cougars (7-5-0, 2-1-0), 3-1 today in Pullman, Washington.
The win snapped a two-game loosing streak for the Sun Devils, as well as snapping Washington State's five-game winning streak.
ASU's Aisha Thomas got the Sun Devils on the board first when she took a pass from Jaclyn Clark and blasted the shot off the WSU's goalkeeper hands at the 11:54 mark. That would be the only scoring in the first half.
The Cougars evened up the score at one a piece just six minutes into the second half, but that would be all that WSU would get on the day.
Clark would score again for ASU at the 57:49 mark with assists going to Karine Inoue and Marianne Simmons.
The Sun Devils would finish off the Cougars at the 81st minute when Inoue nailed a long ball pass the keeper. Jessica Bohl and Jaclyn Clark got the assists.
ASU next travels to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies on Sunday.
