Women's Golf Looks to Claim Pac-10 Title

Seattle, Wash. - The top-ranked Arizona State women's golf team looks to claim it's first Pac-10 title in eleven years as it travels to Seattle, Wash. to compete in the 2007 Pac-10 Championships. In the 20 years of the Pac-10 Championships, ASU has won six times, the last of which came in 1996.

The three-round tournament, held April 23-25, will be played over three days at the par-72, 6,196-yard Broadmoor course. ASU received the No. 1 seed for the tournament calculated by the Pac-10 using an averaged of the Sagarin and Golfstat national women's golf rankings.

The line-up for ASU features: freshman Anna Nordqvist, sophomore All-American Jennifer Osborn, sophomore All-American Azahara Munoz, freshman Juliana Murcia, and senior Lindsay Anderson.

The Sun Devils enter the tournament ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation according to both Golfweek and the Golf World/NGCA Coaches Poll. ASU also boasts two golfers ranked individually in the top-5 according to the Golfweek/Sagarin performance index. Nordqvist is ranked second and Osborn is ranked fifth. ASU is the only team in the nation to have two golfers ranked in the top-5 and one of only two teams to have two golfers ranked in the top-10. Munoz is ranked 11th.
