LUBBOCK, Texas - The Arizona State University women's golf team earned their 14th consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional, held May 5-7 at the par 72, 6,328-yard Jerry S. Rawls Course.
The Sun Devils carded a 12-over 300 in Saturday's final round and finished with a three-round total of 906. Auburn won the NCAA Central Regional with a three-day total of 896 followed by Texas A&M (903), Missouri (905) and ASU (906). Also earning NCAA bids out of the Central Regional were Tulsa (908), Purdue (908), Michigan State (909) and Arkansas (915).
Individually, freshman Louise Stahle finished second to lead the Sun Devils with a three-day total of 219. She carded a two-under 70 on Saturday to earn her third runner-up showing of the year and her eighth top five finish in nine events this season. Junior Alissa Kuczka matched her best finish of the season with a tie for fourth place after shooting a two-over 74 in the final round for a three-day total of 222.
Senior Erin Tone tied for 42nd with a three-round total of 231, while sophomore Tiffany Tavee (T80th, 238) and sophomore Charmaine Erasmus (T86th, 239) rounded out the Sun Devil lineup.
Auburn's Diana Ramage took home individual medalist honors at the NCAA Central Regional, finishing with a three-round total of four-under 212 (68-77-67).
ASU will wrap up the 2004-05 season on May 17-20, traveling to Sunriver, Ore., for the 2005 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships. Oregon State University will play host to the event at the Meadows Golf Course.
