Tom Named Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Arizona State guard Michelle Tom has been named the Pac-10 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Tom, a junior from Winslow, Ariz., led the Sun Devils to a home sweep over the Washington schools with 26 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor in the two games. She hit 4 of 7 three-point attempts and all eight free throws.
In the first start of her Sun Devil career, Tom scored a career-high 19 points and added six rebounds, five assists and four steals as ASU upset No. 7 Washington, 77-76. She hit two three-pointers in the game's final 10 seconds, including one at the buzzer to give the Sun Devils one of their biggest upsets in school history.
Tom came off the bench to contribute seven points, three rebounds and five assists in an 80-60 win over Washington State as the Sun Devils posted back-to-back league wins for the first time in nearly two years.
