Auburn Defeats UNC Wilmington, 65-46
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Sophomore center Conswella Sparrow scored a game-high 25 points to lead No. 23 Auburn (7-1) to a 65-46 victory over UNC Wilmington (4-3) Saturday at the University Activity Center in the second game of the Wells Fargo Classic.
Auburn established its lead early in the game with a 9-0 run in the first half. The Tigers shot .500 from the field (on 12-of-24 shooting), while the Seahawks shot 5-of-27 for a .185 shooting percentage before the break.
Auburn's Erin McGinnis scored 10 points, and senior Tiger Justine Agbatan had a game-high 10 rebounds.
LaTonia Beale led the Seahawks with 17 points (on 6-of-12 shooting).
Auburn will play Arizona State in the championship game of the Wells Fargo Classic Sunday at 7 p.m. in the University Activity Center. UNC Wilmington will take on Long Island at 4 p.m. in the consolation game.
