TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State swimming and diving teams travel to southern California this weekend to face Pac-12 competitors UCLA and USC in two separate dual meets.
The meet at UCLA, where only the women will compete, kicks off at 2 p.m. MT on Friday, Nov. 9. Both the men’s and women’s squads will then travel to USC on Saturday, Nov. 10 where they are slated to start at noon MT.
Arizona State swimming kicked off their 2012-13 season with a home double dual meet, where the women dominated over Grand Canyon and Washington State and the men narrowly lost to the GCU ‘Lopes. This weekend’s competitions will be the first for the diving teams, who did not partake in the double dual.
Last year, the Devils took on the Bruins and the Trojans in their home waters at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center. The women swam for a victory over UCLA, winning 164.5-134.5, before both the men and women lost to USC the next day.
Currently, the Sun Devil women’s swimming and diving squad is ranked 16th in the CollegeSwimming.com/CSCAA Coaches national poll. The Trojan women and men are ranked first and sixth respectively, and the Bruins come in at 15th in the women’s rankings.
