A look at what is going on in the world of Sun Devil Athletics this week.
Arizona State: 2012 Outdoor: Competed in the 3000S at the Pac-12 Championships to finish 19th overall... posted a career fastest 3000m time of 8:45.61 at the ASU-Arkansas-LSU Tri Meet to earn a fourth place finish... set his 3000S careeer best time at home during the 33rd Sun Angel Classic with a time of 9:16.24 to finish fourth... came out in the firest meet at the Baldy Castillo Invitational to set two career fastest times; 2:00.37 in the 800m and 6:07.25 in the 2000S to place sixth...2011 Indoor: Competed soleyly at the NAU Tune-Up to post his fastest mile time yest of 4:39.89...2011 Outdoor: Ran in a trio of races... earned Top 10 finishes in the 3,000m steeplechase on two occasions... selected to the Academic All-Pac-10 First Team... 2011 Indoor: Did not compete. 2010 XC: Ran in four races, including the Pac-10 Championships for the first time where he was 40th overall... placed 18th at the Dave Murray Invitational for his best finish of the season... earned Academic All-Pac-10 First Team honors... 2010 Outdoor: Redshirted... ran in two races unattached from ASU... finished fourth in the 1,500m run at the Puma Outdoor meet (4:12.66)... 2009 XC: Redshirted... ran in three races as an unattached athlete... finished 11th at both the ASU Invitational and the Mesa Thunderbird meets.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Esperanza High School (Anaheim, Calif.)... lettered three-times each in track & field and cross country... captained both squads as a junior and senior... selected as his team's MVP as a junior and senior after being selected as the Most Improved as a sophomore... also chosen as the track team's Varsity Track Distance Runner of the Year as a junior... twice selected All-Orange County in cross country, including first team in 2007 and second team in 2008... competed individually in the finals of the CIF Southern Section cross country championships as a junior... ranks fourth all-time on the school's all-time cross country list and among the Top 10 all-time on its two-mile list... attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 2007.
