J.D. Loudabarger recently joined the Sun Devil Athletics Department in May 2014 as the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Operations & Facilities. Loudabarger serves as a member of the senior management team for SDA. He manages, coordinates and oversees all aspects of staging events for 22 sports, the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, as well as other events hosted by Sun Devil Athletics. Loudabarger serves as tournament director for Pac-12 and NCAA events and oversees the NCAA Bid annual process for hosting championships. Loudabarger oversees requests for maintenance and repairs for all facilities and oversees construction projects as assigned.
Having worked in intercollegiate athletics the past 13 years, Loudabarger brings a wealth of experience to Sun Devil Athletics. Loudabarger comes to ASU from the University of Kansas, where he served as the assistant athletic director for event services since 2008.
He began his career with the Jayhawks in 2001 as an event manager for baseball, soccer, softball, and volleyball. From there, he became the assistant director of event management, where he served as game manager for Olympic sports events and assisted with game management and operations for all other athletic events. Loudabarger then served as the director of event management before becoming an assistant athletic director for event services at Kansas.
A Lawrence, Kansas native, Loudabarger earned a B.S. in business administration in 2001 from Kansas State University, where he was a four-time letter winner in baseball for the Wildcats. He completed his master’s degree in sport administration at KU in 2003.
Loudabarger and his wife, Kelli, have two daughters, Keira (8) and Kaylyn (5) and reside in Gilbert, AZ.
