Sophomore (2026)

  • As of 4/30, Hairston is fourth in the nation with his .436 batting average and rides a 28-game hitting streak into the weekend - the longest active streak in the country. The streak is the fifth-longest in Sun Devil school history.
  • Hairston enters the weekend with 25 home runs, a total that is second nationally and is tied with Spencer Torkelson (2018) and Bob Horner (1978) for second-most in single-season history. ASU’s single school record of 27, set by Mitch Jones in 2000, is very much worth keeping an eye on in the coming week.
  • His 18 doubles this season are tied for 12th in the country and lead the Big 12.
  • Should he reach 20 in both doubles and homers, he would join Bob Horner’s 1978 season as the only other time a player reached the 20/20 club at ASU.
  • He enters the weekend as one of just five players in the nation with at least 15 homers AND 15 doubles.
  • Hairston leads the entire nation with his 1.512 OPS (min. 3 PA per game) - over .100 points higher than the next closest player. His .978 slugging percentage is also over .100 points higher than the next closest player.
  • On April 15, Hairston was named the NCBWA Hitter of the Week for his five home run week. He also had 14 RBIs and nine extra base hits.
  • Has been named to the Baseball America National Team of the Week four weeks in a row, on March 24, March 31, April 7, and April 15.
  • For the second time this season, Hairston was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for his week against GCU, UNLV, and Utah.
  • As of 4/15, Hairston is third in the nation with his .445 batting average on the season and rides a 21-game hitting streak- the third-longest active streak in the country.
  • He has 23 home runs as of 4/15, four short of tying ASU’s single season record of 27, set by Mitch Jones in 2000
  • His 17 doubles this season are also fifth in the country and leads the Big 12.
  • Heading into the weekend series against BYU, Hairston is one of just two players in the nation with at least 15 homers AND 15 doubles (the other player has 15 doubles and 17 homers).
  • Hairston leads the entire nation with his 1.556 OPS (min. 3 PA per game). He is also the only player in the nation with a slugging percentage over 1.000, currently sitting at 1.026.
  • Of his 69 hits this season, 42 have gone for extra bases (17 doubles, 23 homers, 2 triples) - a total that is 10 more than any other player in the country.
  • Hairston is the national leader with his four grand slams this season - also tying the ASU school record in the process. The NCAA single season record is six.
  • The outfielder was selected as the NCBWA Player of the Month for March
  • Hairston was named to the Golden Spikes Midseason Watch List on April 2
  • On March 30, was named the Big 12 Player of the Week; was also named to the Golden Spikes Player of the Week and Perfect Game Co-Player of the Week.

Freshman (2025)

  • Landon Hairston showed a mature approach at the plate despite the freshman tag and quickly became a staple in the Sun Devil lineup in his first year.
  • Became ASU’s 38th Freshman All-American, as selected by the NCBWA
  • Named to the All-Big 12 first team as a utility player and to the Big 12 All-Freshman team
  • Finished the regular season eighth in the Big 12 with his .362 average - also good for eighth among all freshmen nationally and 2nd among freshmen in a Power Four conference
  • His .485 OBP was fourth in the league and 13th among all freshmen in the nation during the regular season and fourth among Power Four freshmen
  • Hairson was easily ASU’s best player in advancing runners, doing so at a .638 clip - 34 points higher than anyone else on the team during the regular season
  • He was second on the team with his .441 average with runners in scoring position (26-for-59) in the regular season
  • Had 16 extra base hits in his last 25 games of the regular season (11 doubles, 1 triple, four homers) after he had just one through his first 27 games as a Sun Devil
  • Hairston has become an everyday fixture in the outfield for ASU despite coming to the program as a corner infielder and is 70-for-72 on defensive chances with two errors and a team-leading three outfield assists
