2004: Started all 12 games at cornerback...finished the season tied for fifth on the team with 49 tackles...also added two interceptions and four pass breakups...had 10 kickoff returns for 228 yardss...collected eight tackles, including a career-best five solo tackles, and broke up a pass vs. Oregon State...tied his career high with five solo tackles the following week at Oregon...also added two kickoff returns for 60 yards, including a career-long 56-yarder, vs. the Ducks...matched his career best with nine tackles (four solo) against UCLA, including a sack for a loss of eight yards...picked off a career-high two interceptions and returned the picks 39 yards vs. Stanford...made four tackles (three solo) and broke up two passes in ASU's Sun Bowl victory over Purdue.
2003: Played in all 12 games, starting four...recorded 19 tackles, all of which were solo efforts...led the team with six passes broken up...had two tackles for loss for eight yards...tallied 190 punt return yards and 166 kick return yards...led the team and finished third in the Pac-10 with an average of 10.0 yards per punt return...was second on the team with 19 punt returns and nine kick returns...averaged 18.4 yards per kick return...tallied a season-high four tackles at California...broke up two passes vs. Utah State.
2002: Played in all 14 games, starting four at cornerback and one at safety...had 33 tackles, 22 solo...notched 1.5 tackles for loss...recorded a 29-yard interception return vs. North Carolina...had nine tackles at Oregon...returned 11 kickoffs for 238 yards (21.6 avg.).
JUNIOR COLLEGE: A 2002 graduate of Grossmont Junior College in San Diego, Calif....broke his collarbone in the first game of his collegiate career and did not see any more game action.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2000 graduate of Westlake High School in Westlake Village, Calif....earned All-C.I.F., all-county and all-league honors his senior year...tallied 415 yards rushing, 389 yards receiving, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions that season.
PERSONAL: Has already earned his bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies (justice studies and communication)...parents are Robert (sports store manager) and Kimberly...his brother, Jeremy (26), played football at Cal State Northridge and earned All-Big-Sky honors...born Sept. 8, 1981 in San Bernardino, Calif....full name is Josh James Golden.
