Player Bio: Moey Mutz



ASU: Tough and consistent playmaker who became one of the more reliable members of ASU's receiving corps...former walk-on who earned a scholarship in the spring of 2004...played in 37 career games, starting two...had 59 receptions for 844 yards and four touchdowns throughout his ASU career...improved tremendously as his career progressed, as a vast majority of his offensive productivity came during his junior and senior seasons, as he had only three catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns (all of which occurred against Northern Arizona in 2003) for his freshman and sophomore seasons combined...became a legitimate offensive weapon as a junior in 2004, establishing career-bests of 35 receptions for 438 yards.

2005: Played in 11 games with one start...finished the season with 21 receptions for 331 yards...ranked fourth on the team averaging 15.8 yards per reception...had four catches for a career-high 90 yards, including a season-high 38-yard reception in his only start of the year against Northwestern on Sept. 17...had four catches for 50 yards, and his lone touchdown catch of the season on a four-yard pass from quarterback Sam Keller during ASU's attempt at a fourth-quarter rally against No. 5 LSU on Sept. 10...tied his season-best with four receptions for 37 yards at Stanford on Oct. 22...had three catches for 34 yards against top-ranked USC on Oct. 1...tied his season-high with a 38-yard reception against Washington on Oct. 29...one of seven Sun Devils on the roster to have already earned his undergraduate degree.

2004: Played in all 12 games with one start (at USC)...ranked fourth on the team with 35 receptions for 438 yards and one touchdown...caught three passes in the season opener against UTEP for a total of 43 yards...hauled in four passes against Northwestern for a total of 48 yards...had in three receptions for 30 yards against Iowa, including a 14-yard touchdown pass...recorded two or more receptions in the final seven games of the season...collected two receptions against UCLA for 25 yards and recorded a solo tackle...caught four passes against Cal for a total of 50 yards...set a career high for receptions with five for 56 yards in back-to-back weeks against Stanford and Washington State.. turned in a career-best 76 yards on four catches against Arizona, including a career-long 42-yard reception...caught three passes for 24 yards in the Sun Bowl...was recognized as a Hard Hat Player for his work in ASU's winter strength and conditioning program.

2003: Played in 10 games...caught three passes for 75 yards with two touchdowns against Northern Arizona...caught 29- and 38-yard passes from Andrew Walter for touchdowns vs. the Lumberjacks.

2002: Played in four games... saw action vs. Eastern Washington, Central Florida, Stanford and Washington State.

2001: Redshirted as a member of the scout team.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2001 graduate of Granada High School in Livermore, Calif....lettered four times each in football and basketball...captained his football and basketball teams for two seasons...was named the MVP of his league as a senior...also earned first-team all-league honors on offense (wide receiver) and defense (defensive back)...holds school receiving records for catches, yards and touchdowns...turned in seven catches for 150 yards and three TDs and scored another touchdown on a punt return in a game vs. Amador Valley High School as a senior...coached by Aaron Gingery.

PERSONAL: Has already earned his undegraduate degree in kinesiology...parents are Henry (business owner) and Mona (church worker)...has one brother, Cy (24), and one sister, Sierra (22)...born May 11, 1983...full name is Henry Phillip Mutz.

CAREER HIGHS: Receptions: 5, twice, last at Washington State (11/15/03). Receiving Yards: 90, vs. Northwestern (9/10/05). Touchdown Receptions: 2, vs. Northern Arizona (9/6/03).
