Student Tickets Sell Out
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Student tickets to Arizona State University football games in 1997 have sold out, prompting the Intercollegiate Athletic Department to open additional student seating at Sun Devil Stadium, ASU Director of Athletics Kevin White announced Tuesday.
This is the first time since 1988, following the 1987 Rose Bowl, that ASU has sold out of student season tickets prior to the home opener.
"Due to the intense demand for student season tickets, we have filled 7,500 requests thus far," said White. "That has been our maximum allotment for student season tickets. We will open additional sections to accommodate the extra demand."
"What an exciting commitment by our students to back the Sun Devils fully," said ASU President Dr. Lattie Coor. "Student support for ASU football continues to grow and we are excited about that."
Season and single-game tickets still remain for ASU's attractive home slate, including games with New Mexico State (Aug. 30), Brigham Young (Sept. 20), USC (Oct. 11), Washington State (Nov. 1), Oregon (Nov. 15) and Arizona (Nov. 28).
Tickets may be purchased at the Sun Devil Ticket Office, located at the south end of Sun Devil Stadium from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. or at the ASU Memorial Union from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The cost of a student season ticket is $32 for a full-time student.
