Men's Basketball (Bill Frieder/8th Year): Finished 10-20 overall, 2-16 in the Pac-10 (10th)...Jeremy Veal earned All-Pac-10 honors and second-team all-league honors from Basketball Weekly...Mike Batiste earned Pac-10 All-Newcomer honors...Eddie House earned Pac-10 All-Freshman accolades and honorable mention freshman All-American honors from Basketball Weekly...House set the ASU freshman steals record with 59...Rodger Farrington, voted the team's Most Improved Player, broke the Pac-10 record for average blocks per game with a 4.19 average... Farrington posted 113 blocks in 27 games before injuring his hand, missing the final three games of the year...Farrington was the only Pac-10 player to rank in the league's top 10 in steals and blocks...Veal ended the season fourth in the league in scoring (18.7) and tied for fifth in assists (4.7)... It marked only the sixth time since 1983 a Pac-10 player has been ranked in the top five in both categories, joining the likes of Damon Stoudamire, Terrell Brandon and Gary Payton...Veal earned Great Alaska Shootout All-Tournament honors...ASU led Pac-10 in turnover margin (+5.2) and tied for league lead in assists per game (17.8)...beat California 64-60 on Jan. 4 to notch its seventh straight win over the Golden Bears in the University Activity Center.
