2001 (Junior): First-team All-Pac-10 selection... after starting the year on the disabled list with a sprained MCL, put a great junior year together on the diamond... finished third on the team with a .373 batting average... had six doubles, two triples and four home runs for ASU in 2001... recorded 37 RBI and stole 20 of 25 bases... second on the team with 27 multi-hit games... played in 49 games, making 48 starts in center field... hit two grand slams over the course of two weeks near the end of the season... his slam vs. Washington (5/12) in the 10th inning won the game... followed that with a grand slam in the second inning vs. UCLA (5/20) in the last regular season game of the year... had career high six RBI in 5/12 game vs. UW... had a team-high 19-game hitting streak from Feb. 16 to Mar. 30 in which he hit .378 (28x74)... also had a 10-game streak and a eight-game streak... recorded at least one hit in 41 of his 48 starts... had a hit in 18 of his last 19 games, with 15 multi-hit games over that stretch of games... ended the year on a 15-for-38 hot streak (.395) with hits in his last eight games... hit .357 (5x14) in the NCAA Tournament with a home runs and three RBI... led the Pac-10 in stolen bases.
