A WEEK AGO: For the second week in a row, ASU came away with a split, defeating Loyola Marymount 4-2 on Friday and falling to Tennessee 2-1 on Sunday. Against a physical LMU team, the Sun Devils still cranked out four goals, two of which came via the penalty kick. Karine Inoue scored first on a penalty kick when she was taken down just in front of the goal by a LMU defender. Just three minutes later, Aisha Thomas was on her way to score when she was taken down by another LMU defender. This allowed Inoue to set up her second penalty kick which she nalied in the same lower right corner. Less than a minue later, Thomas took a centering pass from Antionette Marjanovic and scored her own goal at the 32nd minute. ASU would raise its score to 4-1 when Melissa Reynolds took a pass from Kerrie Kulak, heading it pass the LMU keeper. The goal marked the first career score for Reynolds. LMU would score one more time late in the second half to end the night at 4-2. ASU keeper Erin Reinke made six saves, while LMU had two. On Sunday, the results were not as pleasant. Tennessee would out-shoot the Sun Devils 15-9 and outscore the Devils 2-1. ASU would get on the board first when Thomas took a fed from Erin McGinnis and scored from about seven yards out. However, the Lady Vols would score two in the second half and run the clock out. ASU had several scoring chances, but were unable to convert.

THE COMPETITION: Montana will first visit Tucson on Friday before venturing up to Tempe. Last year, Montana beat ASU 4-1 in Missoula at the Montana October Classic. The Grizzlies are ranked eighth in the West Region. Montana is also ranked second in their region in scoring, averaging 3.67 goals per game. They are led by a pair of 19 point performers in junior forward Karen Hardy (8 goals, 3 assists) and senior midfielder Courtney Mathieson (7 goals, 5 assists). Goalkeeper Railene Thorson has started all 10 games and has a 1.22 goals against average. She has made 52 saves to go along with four and half shutouts.

REINKE IN GOAL: Despite sitting out most of last season with a head injury, redshirt freshman Erin Reinke has been a solid fixture in goal for ASU this year. In ten games, Reinke has made 60 saves, allowed 12 goals and collected three shutouts. Her 1.20 GAA ranks her ninth in the West Region and sixth in the Pac-10. Additionally, Reinke's 60 saves ranks her third in the conference.

CAN'T GET NO SATISFACTION: Due to the November 7th Rolling Stones concert at Sun Devil Stadium, ASU's match against Stanford has been moved to 4:30 p.m. instead of the original 7 p.m. kickoff. The game will still be played at Sun Devil Soccer Field.

ONE-TWO PUNCH: Part of the ASU success this season can be attributed to freshmen Karine Inoue and Jaclyn Clark. The two players have combined for 44 shots, recorded 11 goals and six assists. They are also responsible for over a third of the team's points with 28. Inoue, a forward from Laguna Hills, Calif., also has a game-winning goal to her credit. Clark, a native of Rochester Hills, Mich., plays forward and has posted at least one point in six of ASU's ten games, including her first hat trick against Creighton.

THE CROATIAN SENSATION: Ten games into the '97 season, freshman midfielder Antoinette Marjanovic has already set the school record for most goals scored (7), total points (18), assists (4) and game-winning goals (3). The Mayfield Senior product from Los Angeles, Calif., was the youngest and first American-Croatian to play on the Croatian National women's team. Marjanovic's three game-winning goals ranks her second in the West region and her seven goals places her fourth in the region.

CORNER KICKS: ASU's six goals scored against Utah State is the most ever ... the five goal margin of victory over Creighton is the largest ever ... ASU has outscored their opponents 28-12 ... ASU has broke eight team records so far this year ... before the New Mexico loss, Antoinette Marjanovic had scored two goals in each of the previous three games ... 12 different Sun Devils have contributed at least one point ... at this time last year, ASU had scored only eight goals compared to 28 this season ... ASU is ranked sixth in the West Region in scoring with a 2.80 goals against average
