TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State swimming and diving team will finish their 2012-13 season with the men’s NCAA Championships this upcoming weekend.
Taking place in Indianapolis, Ind., the Sun Devils look to build upon an already historic season as they open competition on March 28 and end on March 30.
The men’s diving squad will have two of the top divers in the nation competing in Indianapolis after senior Harrison Jones and junior Riley McCormick both qualified for NCAAs at the Zone E Championships earlier this month. Jones and McCormick placed second and third respectively in the 3-meter competition, automatically earning berths in Indianapolis. Both men also had top-five finishes in 3- and 1-meter contests at Pac-12 Championships, with Jones setting a school record with a score of 437.5 in the 1-meter.
In the pool, the Devils set the most school records in a single season since 2000 during their competition at Pac-12 Championships. Junior Alex Coci and freshman Thibaut Capitaine bested two ASU records each, with Coci swimming the 100- and 200-yard fly and Capitaine in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke.
Many other swimmers earned season-best times over the course of the weekend, including the men’s 200-yard medley relay which finished just half a second shy of the school’s current record.
