TEMPE, Ariz. -- Three Arizona State University women's basketball players - senior Kali Bennett, junior Joy Burke and redshirt junior Janae Fulcher - were named to the Pac-12 Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, announced by the conference on Thursday.
Currently a non-degree graduate student, Bennett (3.42 GPA) was named to the five-member second team. She started all 32 games for the Sun Devils in 2011-12 and led ASU in blocks (2.8 bpg), finished second in rebounding (6.5 rpg), scoring (8.3 ppg) and assists (2.2 apg) and tied for third in steals (1.4 spg). In addition, Bennett established new school records for most blocks in a season (91) and most blocks in a game (9).
Burke (3.34 GPA - Marketing), who earned honorable mention honors, played in the first five games of the season before having her season cut short due to a concussion she suffered prior to ASU's game at DePaul.
Also earning honorable mention honors was Fulcher (3.01), who is currently pursuing her Master's of Liberal Studies. Fulcher played in all 32 games (two starts) and had career-best averages in scoring (6.2 ppg) and rebounding (3.3 rpg).
