TEMPE, Ariz.--The fifth-ranked Arizona State women's golf team returns home to the ASU Karsten golf course to host the 38th Annual PING/ASU Invitational, Mar. 30-Apr. 1, in Tempe, Ariz. Over the course of the Sun Devils' long-standing home tournament, Arizona State has won the team championship a total of 17 times, most recently with a victory in 2007.
The field for the tournament features nine teams ranked in the top-25, according to Golfstat, and five top-10 ranked team. Competing in the PING/ASU Invitational: No. 5 Arizona State (Host), No. 20 Arizona, No. 8 LSU, No. 49 New Mexico, No. 11 Oklahoma State, No. 50 Oregon State, No. 45 San Diego State, No. 42 Stanford, No. 29 Texas, No. 12 Texas A&M, No. 39 TCU, No. 26 UC Davis, No. 1 UCLA, No. 53 UNLV, No. 3 USC, No. 7 Vanderbilt, and No. 23 Washington. The 54-hole tournament will be played over the course of three days, with 18 holes played each day. Tee times for Friday will begin at 8 a.m. PT, with golfers teeing off on holes one and 10. On Saturday and Sunday, tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. PT. The ASU Karsten Golf course is set at a par-71, 6,121-yards, with golfers teeing off the championship tees.
The line-up for Arizona State features senior Giulia Molinaro, sophomore Justine Lee, sophomore Daniela Ordonez, sophomore Laura Blanco and freshman Noemi Jimenez. Freshman Emilie Alonso, who joined the team in January, will play as an individual. Molinaro is currently ranked fourth in the nation according to Golfweek and has recorded five top-10 finishes on the season.
