TEMPE, Ariz.--The No. 26 Arizona State women’s swimming team opening up its conference schedule as they host current Pac-10 competitor Oregon State and future Pac-12 opponent Utah in a tri-meet at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center on Saturday, January 8 at Noon.
The Sun Devils are coming off some of the best nonconference performances in recent history, finishing third out of 17 teams at the Arena Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.
Junior Rebecca Ejdervik set an Arena Invitational meet record in the 100-yard breaststroke breaking the previous record, which had been standing for seven years. Ejdervick clocked a time of 1:00.04, fractions of a second off the NCAA A-Cut time. Ejdervik is currently ranked sixth in the nation in the 100 breast.
Freshman distance swimmer Tristin Baxter has also shown some stamina for the Sun Devils. Baxter ranks fourth in the NCAA in the 1000 free with her time of 9:49.02, which she set in Long Beach.
