. In the preliminaries of day two of the Pac-10 Championships, numerous members of the Arizona State men's swimming team set new personal standards. The Sun Devils competed in the 50 free, 200 IM and 500 free in day two of their conference championships, held at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool.
The highlight of the morning was senior Mohammed Madwa. The Kuwaiti clocked in a career-best time of 19.96. His time was also an NCAA consideration time. Madwa currently stands ninth in ASU's top 10 list. Tony Cisneros also swam the 50 free, coming in at 20.27. Senior Magnus Kjellberg finished in a season-best time of 20.90.
In only his second collegiate race, Xavier Mohammed clocked in a time of 1:48.38 in the 200 IM. Max Laney tied his career-best time of 1:50.60. Yutaro Yamashita touched the wall at 4:28.35 in the 500 free to set a new personal best while Adrian Kirkpatrick finished in a career-best 4:28.47.
The finals of the 50 free, 200 IM and 500 free will start tonight at 6 p.m. PT.
