TEMPE, Ariz. - The Sun Devil Softball squad (25-5 overall) gear up this weekend to open their 2009 conference slate as they set to host Pac-10 foes, Oregon & Oregon State. The Sun Devils will face the Oregon Ducks at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 27 and the Oregon State Beavers Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m. and Sunday March 29 at Noon in Tempe at Farrington Stadium.

Series History & Scouting Report
Since 1987 the Sun Devils have gone Duck hunting and compiled a 44-33 overall record against Oregon. Last season, the Sun Devils swept the series from under the Ducks with 3-2, 6-1 and 9-0 over Oregon. All-time, Head Coach Clint Myers is 8-1 against UO. The Sun Devils also ride a three-game winning streak against the Ducks into this weekend.


One of the oldest rivals to ASU, Oregon State first matched up against ASU in 1977 and since then ASU has compiled a 65-25 record against the Beavs. Last season, the Sun Devils went a perfect 3-0 against Oregon State, winning 3-2, 8-4 and 5-1 over OSU. They hold a current five-game winning streak into this weekend. All-time Clint Myers is 7-2 against the Beavers.

The Sun Devils will hit the road next weekend on one of their toughest road trips of the season as they head off to L.A. to face UCLA on Friday, April 3 and to Seattle to face Washington on Saturday April 4 and Sunday, April 5.
