Diving Heads to Coach Bradshaw's Alma Mater for Ohio State Invitational

Dec. 3, 2009

The Arizona State University diving team will be heading to the Ohio State Invitational this weekend. The team will be given the opportunity to again compete on the platform, an event not done at dual meets, as well as the springboard events.

Not Now, They're In the Zone!
Cameron Bradshaw, Elina Eggers, Brittany Jumer and Riley McCormick have already qualified for the Zone E Championships. Eggers and McCormick are eligible on all three events while Bradshaw and Jumer earned spots on the springboards. Freshman Ciara Gellar also earned an NCAA "B" score on the platform.

And the Winner Is...
Cameron Bradshaw took first on the 1-meter at the Wildcat Invitational. The sophomore scored 357.25 points to earn a new personal best. Additionally, Bradshaw placed third on the 3-meter.

Athlete of the Week
Eggers was named ASU Female Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Wildcat Invitational. Eggers, a 2008 Olympic finalist, proved she was as good as advertised when the Swedish sophomore handily won the 10-meter platform at the Wildcat Invitational. With 284.50 points, she easily earned an NCAA automatic qualifying score. In addition, Eggers placed second on the 1-meter springboard over the weekend with an NCAA "A" standard of 299.25 and sixth on the 3-meter, earning 258 points.

Ohio Connection
Head diving coach Mark Bradshaw was a four-time All-American for the Ohio State University. In 1983, he won the 3-meter springboard at the NCAA Championships. His son, Cameron Bradshaw, is a native Ohioan.

Wiley Riley
Freshman McCormick also had a successful weekend down in Tucson. The Canadian Olympian excelled on platform, finishing first by 60 points. In addition, McCormick placed fourth on the 1-meter.
