The Arizona State swimming and diving team announces the signing of four athletes to join their squad next fall. Paige Schultz, Shannon Landgrebe, Caroline Kuczynski and Caleb Veazey have all signed National Letters of Intent to study and compete at Arizona State, announces head coach Michael Chasson.
Hailing from Toronto, Schultz joins the ASU squad after previously swimming for the Toronto Swim Club and the Canadian National Junior Team. Her time of 2:15 in the 200m Individual Medley last August ranks her as one of the fastest prospects coming out of high school this year. Schultz will look to be a force inside the Pac-10 conference and at the NCAA Championships in the IM as well as middle distance freestyle.

"Paige is one of the top high school 200 IM recruits," says Chasson. "She can also swim freestyle and is just an outstanding swimmer that will help our team immediately."
Landgrebe will compete for the Sun Devils after previously swimming for Palm Springs' Piranha Swim Team. The 6-foot-1-inch freestyle specialist adds to the great freestyle tradition at Arizona State in the 50, 100, 200 and 500 events. Landgrebe has experience as a racer at the National Championship level in the middle distance events and has constantly improved her sprint speed.

"Shannon will help fill an immediate void in the middle distance events," says Chasson. "She will make an impact both individually and as a member of the 800 free relay."
Opting for a drier heat over a more humid one, Kuczynski will make the move to Tempe from Florida. Under the guidance of legendary coach Michael Lohberg, the coach of U.S. Olympic medalist Dana Torres, at Coral Springs Swim Club, Kuczynski is one of the best up and coming butterfly swimmers in North America. Kuczynski, at 6' tall, has a flawless butterfly stroke. Kuczynski is the Florida High School State Champion in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. Her winning time of 54.37 in the 100 butterfly also set a new state record in Florida. Originally from Montreal, Kuczynski is looking to travel with teammate Schultz to Junior World Championships as a part of the Canadian National Junior Team.

"Caroline has improved a tremendous amount in the last couple weeks," says Chasson. "At six-foot, she has a flawless butterfly stroke. She will have an immediate impact in the butterfly and individual medley events as an incoming freshmen."
Veazey competes for the Dallas Mustangs. The Texas native is a distance freestyle and individual medley specialist. Veazey, who made national headlines in USA Today after qualifying for the US Olympic Trials in a pool that was 3 centimeters short, will prove his mettle in Tempe. With faster high school times than former ASU standout and current record holder C.J. Nuess, Veazey will look to make an instant impact on the Sun Devils lineup.

"Caleb is one of the top American HS distance swimmers," says Chasson. "He will help us tremendously as a quality distance swimmer. Within first two years, I expect him to make a dramatic impact." Ku
