TEMPE, Ariz. - The 2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American list was released Wednesday afternoon which saw Arizona State place two on the First Team. Katie Burkhart garnered her first All-American honor and Kaitlin Cochran was awarded her second First-Team All-American award.
A big reason for ASU's success has been due to the pitcher selection Katie Burkhart, who compiled a 0.90 ERA and landed the school's career strikeout record en route to claiming Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year accolades.
Outfielder Kaitlin Cochran joined Burkart on the first team after the sophomore hit .500 during the regular season, a mark that leads the nation. She also added 18 home runs for the Sun Devils and drove in 53 runs while stealing 27 of 31 bases.
The Sun Devils continue their season tomorrow in the 2007 Women's College World Series against the No. 2 Northwestern Wildcats. Game time is set for 2 p.m. CST (12 p.m. PT) and will air on ESPN.
