TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State junior LHP Brian Flores has been named the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced today. This marks the second Pitcher of the Week award for Flores this year and the seventh time this season a Sun Devil has earned a weekly honor from the Pac-10.
Flores (Carlsbad, N.M.) was magnificent in his two starts during the week, going 2-0 with wins against Utah Valley State and Oregon State. His performance on Sunday was masterful, as he threw a complete game one-hitter against the Beavers, securing the series sweep and a share of the Pac-10 title. On the week, Flores threw 13 innings, allowed only 7 hits and 2 runs while striking out 14.
