As current and former members of Arizona State University swimming and diving continued international action at the 2007 FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia, a trio of Sun Devils were showcased in action among the world's elite.
Highlighting the most recent action was current Sun Devil Micky Benedetti, representing , who dove excellently in the synchronized platform diving preliminary and final rounds. Benedetti, the 2007 Pacific-10 Conference three-meter and platform diving champion, placed sixth overall in the event's finals round, earning a score of 406.86. In the synchronized platform diving preliminary round, he placed seventh, scoring 384.96 points.
After placing 10th in the three-meter synchronized diving finals and 23rd overall in the one-meter springboard, former Sun Devil (2003-06) Joona Puhakka placed 14th in the preliminary round of the three-meter springboard, totaling a score of 405.05.
Sun Devil swimmer Ante Cvitkovic, representing Croatia, also competed at the FINA World Championships, placing 37th in the 100m backstroke preliminary round, finishing in a time of 57.57.
Cvitkovic will see additional action as the FINA World Championships conclude, competing in the 200m backstroke on Thursday, March 29 and in the 50m backstroke on Saturday, March 31.
