Benedetti Places Fourth in Men's 1-Meter at Pac-10 Men's and Women's Diving Championships

State University men's and women's diving teams began a weekend of competition at the 2007 Pacific-10 Conference Diving Championships in , as the Sun Devil men competed in the 1-meter diving while the women participated in the 3-meter championships.   

On the first day of action, redshirt freshman Micky Benedetti placed fourth overall in the 1-meter diving, while sophomore Billy Sweeney placed eighth. Senior Cassidy Farwell led the way for the women's team, placing seventh overall in the 3-meter.

Benedetti, a , native, recorded the top 1-meter preliminary score (339.75) and recorded a score of 323.05 in the event's final round.

Hometown product Sweeney of Tempe, Ariz. posted the fourth-best preliminary score (310.65) and ultimately earned a score of 229.90 in the finals round.

Farwell earned her way into the finals round of the women's 3-meter diving, scoring a preliminary mark of 254.25. The native recorded a score of 254.55 in the event's finals round.

Sophomore Erin Hobbs also competed for the Sun Devil women, recording a score of 228.30 in the preliminary round of the 3-meter.

ASU's men and women continue action Saturday, with the preliminary and finals round of the men's 3-meter and women's 1-meter. The 2007 Pac-10 Diving Championships will conclude Sunday with the men's and women's platform diving championships.
