2006 Sparky Swim Camp

TEMPE, Ariz. - The 2006 Sparky Swim Camp will be held at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center at Arizona State University during the month of June for swimmers between the ages of eight and 18. The focus of the camp will be on teaching the most up-to-date stroke technique, starts and turns. The swim camp will be staffed by ASU swim coaches. There will be three sessions held including Session One: June 11-15, Session Two: June 18-22 and Session Three: June 25-20.

There will be two types of camps offered including the Resident Camp and the Day Camp. Campers will participate in classroom sessions on nutrition, injury prevention and race preparation in addition to evening activities. The camps offer a low coach-to-swimmer ratio, optional personal Dartswim DVD analysis, appearances by ASU Olympians and U.S. National Team member Nick Brunelli.

The Resident Camp begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday and ends at 12 p.m. on Thursday for each session. Swimmers participating in the Resident Camp will stay in ASU's dorms and will be provided with three meals a day in the campus dining facilities. In addition to participating in daily activities, resident campers will partake in special evening activities including a visit to a local water park.

For the Day Camp, drop-off is at 2 p.m. on the Sunday of the session, and pick-up is at 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday drop-off is at 8:15 a.m. and pick-up is at 5 p.m. Thursday drop-off is at 8:15 a.m. and pick-up is at 12 p.m. Lunch will be provided to the swimmers participating in the Day Camp. They will also be able to participate in optional special evening activities for an additional fee. All campers will receive a camp T-shirt and cap.
