Tucson, Ariz. - The Arizona State men's golf team finished in second place at the National Invitational Tournament, seven strokes behind tournament champion UCLA. ASU shot a 7-under 857.
UCLA shot a 14-under 850 for the tournament. New Mexico's Jay Choi won individual honors after carding a 6-under 210.
Individually, Sun Devils' Niklas Lemke and Alejandro Canizares tied for second place after shooting a 5-under 211. Freshman Erik Coover shot a 2-over 218 to tie for 34th. Senior Lenny Park tied for 49th after shooting a 5-over 221. Freshman Steele DeWalt shot a 14-over 230 to tie for 76th.
Next up, the Devils hope home-course advantage works in their favor as they compete in the Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. April 8-9.
