TEMPE, Ariz. (www.thesundevils.com) -- The NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships came to a close Saturday in Athens, Ga. with the Sun Devils finishing in 29th place. Freshmen Amy Konowalik (Derby, England) and Erin Hobbs (Calgary, Alberta) and sophomore Caitlin Andrew (San Antonio, Texas) competed for Arizona State University Saturday.
Swimming in her third event of the meet, Andrew finished 24th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.88. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Konowalik touched the wall in 2:16.59 during the preliminaries and placed 32nd in the event. It marked the second event she competed in at the NCAAs. Hobbs competed in the platform diving event and finished 23rd with a score of 193.80. During the NCAAs, Hobbs competed in all three diving events.
Next up, ASU's men's swimming and diving will travel to Atlanta to compete in the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. Competition will begin March 23 and conclude March 25.
