ASU's Diving Teams Complete Weekend of Action at Ohio State Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio -

Arizona State University's men's and women's diving teams wrapped up a weekend competing among 12 swimming and diving teams at the 2006 Ohio State University Swimming and Diving Invitational.

The Sun Devils were led by the impressive efforts of redshirt freshman Micky Benedetti, who took first in the 1-Meter (381.20 preliminaries, 381.50 finals) and second in the 3-Meter (319.75 preliminaries, 336.40 finals).  Benedetti also took seventh in the Platform, recording a finals score of 309.45.

Senior Cassidy Farwell, the lone representative from ASU's women's team, finished fourth in the Platform, posting a finals score of 281.45. She also recorded a 260.75 in the preliminary round of the 1-Meter.

Sophomore Billy Sweeney also competed for the men's diving team, recording scores of 282.30 and 272.70 in the preliminary rounds of the 1-Meter and 3-Meter, respectively.

ASU's diving teams will enjoy a month off until its next competition, when they will rejoin the Sun Devil swimming teams to take on UBC on Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. at ASU's Mona Plummer Aquatic Complex.
