TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State University softball team (29-24) earned an at-large bid into the NCAA 64-team field announced Sunday night by the NCAA Committee. The Sun Devils will travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama as the second-seed and face third-seed Hofstra (40-8-1) in a first round game on Friday, May 20 at 4:00 p.m. (CDT). Alabama (57-13), the No. 12 national seed and top-seed in the regional, will take on fourth-seed Mississippi Valley State (34-29) in the other opening round game at 6:30 p.m. This will be Arizona State's 17th NCAA appearance and eight in the past nine years.
