FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Diver Trisha Tumlinson won the 10-meter platform on Saturday at the Pac-10 Diving Championships to claim her second conference title in three days and cap an extraordinary week for the Arizona State diving team at the King County Aquatic Center.
The junior All-American recorded a 433.65 in Saturday's final round to take home top honors in her specialty. Only two days prior Tumlinson won her first Pac-10 title with a victory on the 3-meter springboard. Senior Jessica Stenson made the final round and placed seventh on platform with a total of 328.20. Freshman Cassidy Farwell placed 11th (308.75) with junior Nicole Zukowski placing 17th (264.20).
On the men's side, juniors Gordon Blukis and Thomas McCrummen advanced to Saturday's final round on platform with Blukis finishing sixth (414.85) and McCrummen eighth (403.80). Sophomore Joona Puhakka placed 11th (398.25) while fellow sophomore Brant Bingham finished 17th (271.15).
In addition to Tumlinson's two titles this week, Puhakka also won two titles--his on the 1m and 3m--the second year in a row he has swept the springboards. The Sun Devil divers will be back in action March 11-13 at the Zone E Diving Championships.
