FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Arizona State freshman men's diver Joona Puhakka claimed his second Pac-10 championship in as many days with a 385.75 effort on the 1-meter springboard at the King County Aquatic Center this evening. The Sun Devil divers dictated Friday's contest, as ASU sophomore Thomas McCrummen finished in second with a 314.85. They were the only divers to crack the 300-point barrier in the second day's final round at the Pac-10 Diving Championships.

Puhakka and McCrummen finished 1-2 in the afternoon's preliminaries and kept the pace going into the evening's championships. Puhakka remains unbeaten as a Sun Devil on the 1-meter and becomes the first diver in Arizona State history to achieve two conference titles in the same year. Yesterday, the Finnish Olympian won the 3-meter title with a score of 640.00 after setting the school record of 650.70 in Thursday's preliminaries.

On the women's side, Trisha Tumlinson finished seventh after recording a 463.20. Her preliminary tally of 470.75 set a new career best. Jessica Stenson placed 18th for ASU (392.20) while Nicole Zukowski came in 23rd (341.00).

The divers are back in action tomorrow for the final day of competition at this year's meet. Both the men and the women will be on the 10-meter platform. Preliminaries begin at 1:00 p.m. with the finals being a part of the evening competition, which begins at 6:00 p.m.
