Women's Golf to Tee Off at 8:40 a.m. on Friday in the PING/ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State women's golf team will tee off at 8:40 a.m. from tee No. 1 on Friday morning in the first round of the 2002 PING/ASU Invitational. The Sun Devils will play with Arizona and Tulsa on the first day.

The PING/ASU Invitational will be held Friday-Sunday, April 5-7 at the par 72, 6,122-yard Karsten Golf Course on the campus of Arizona State University. Admission is free to spectators.

ASU's lineup will include junior Ga?lle Truet (New Caledonia), junior Blair O'Neal (Tempe, Ariz.), freshman Erin Tone (Gilbert, Ariz.), sophomore Jimin Kang (Edmonds, Wash.) and junior Melanie Hunt (Phoenix, Ariz.). Senior Lisa Meredith (Reading, England) and freshman Josefin Gustafsson (Falkoping, Sweden) will play as individuals.

The Sun Devils will be looking to capture their first win in the PING/ASU Invitational since 1999 when the team built a 20-stroke lead (884) to capture the tournament title and ASU All-American Grace Park took home individual medalist honors.

Tee Times for the first round of PING/ASU Invitational - Friday, April 5

Tee No. 1 8 a.m. - Oregon, San Jose State, TCU 8:40 a.m. - Arizona State, Arizona, Tulsa 9:20 a.m. - Oregon State, UCLA, New Mexico State

Tee No. 10 8 a.m. - California, New Mexico, Washington 8:40 a.m. - Individuals 9:04 a.m. - Texas, USC, Stanford

Specific tee times for individuals will be available on Thursday afternoon after all of the teams check in for their practice rounds.
