    TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State University, under second-year head coach Dirk Koetter, begins Spring football practice today at the Bill Kajikawa Practice Facility. The Sun Devils, in compliance with NCAA rules, are allowed to workout 15 times, 12 in full pads. Weekday practices begin at 3:45 p.m. MT.

    The dates for the practices include: March 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30, April 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 11, and 13. The annual Spring Game will be held on April 13 at 2:45 p.m. at Sun Devil Stadium/Frank Kush Field.

    The Sun Devils return 41 lettermen, including four starters on offense and eight on defense. ASU has an all-American candidate on each side of the football in wide receiver Shaun McDonald and defensive end Terrell Suggs.

    The Sun Devils open the 2002 campaign on August 24 versus Nebraska in the BCA (Black Coaches Association) Classic. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN, beginning at 6:45 p.m. CT.
