AUSTIN, Texas -- The 20th-ranked Arizona State women's swimming and diving team finished the Texas Invitational in fifth-place behind strong performances from Trisha Tumlinson and Petra Banovic on the final day. Sophomore diver Tumlinson recorded her second school record in as many days, as she scored a 453.15 on the platform to best the previous school record set by Trish Malatesta in 2001 (438.65). Tumlinson finished second in the event.

Junior Petra Banovic placed herself sixth on the all-time ASU list in the 100 free with her 50.59 effort in the first leg of the school record setting 400 free relay (3:20.14). Joining Banovic in the fastest ASU foursome ever were Claire Hedenskog, Florencia Szigeti and Florence Mauro. The relay earned an NCAA automatic qualification.

Banovic also put herself in the ASU record books with her 2:01.28 in the 200 back, seventh-best in Sun Devil history. She placed eighth in that event and missed an NCAA "B" time by five-hundredths of a second.

Swimming the 1650 freestyle for the first time as a Sun Devil, freshman Kathryn Hennessy clocked an NCAA consideration time of 16:53.92, good enough for sixth-place. In the 100 free, Szigeti registered a 50.46, which gives her an NCAA consideration time in this event, where she finished sixth. Hedenskog lowered her "B" time in the 100 free with a 50.49 in the prelims. She finished eighth in the finals with a 50.89.
