TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State has signed Dana Holland of Glendale Heights, Ill., to study and wrestle for the Sun Devils beginning next fall, head coach Lee Roy Smith announced Wednesday.
Holland comes to ASU from Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where he won the 2000 national junior college championship at 149 pounds. The previous year, he finished third at 141 pounds at the national meet. He was coached by Mark Ostrander at Iowa Central Community College.
A 1998 graduate of Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream, Ill., Holland was an Illinois State high school champion and won the 1998 national high school title. He was also a three-time Junior National All-American.
Holland joins Mike Simpson of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Quinton Swanberg of Scottsdale, Ariz., who signed with the Sun Devils in the fall.
