ASU Hosts Evans' Old School Wednesday at 7:30

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State men's basketball tickets are currently on sale for its first-round NIT game against the New Mexico State Aggies on Wed., March 15, at 7:30 p.m.

The general public can get tickets for $12 at the Sun Devil Ticket Office or by calling Dillard's/ETM at 480-503-5555. ASU Student tickets are available only at ASU for $6.

New Mexico State, coached by Lou Henson, is 22-9 and finished 11-5 in the Big West (East Division) and lost in the Big West Championship to Utah State 71-67 on Saturday.

Arizona State head coach Rob Evans is a 1968 graduate of New Mexico State with a Bachelors Degree in Education and played for Henson for two seasons (1966-68). Evans also is a native of Hobbs, N.M., and was the NMSU Most Outstanding Athlete in 1967 and is a member of the New Mexico State Athletic Hall of Fame.

"This will be a great matchup for our team and a great honor for me to coach against a legend and my former coach," says Rob Evans. "They are a really talented team and it will be a great test for us. It is important for our team to keep playing well on its home court."

Also, New Mexico State's African American Alumni Association presents a scholarship in Rob Evans' name. The Rob Evans Scholarship Fund is given to the university to assist with the recruitment and retention of African American students.

The ASU Ticket Office will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and until tip-off on Wednesday evening. Season ticket holders parking passes are valid for Wednesday's contest.

NOTE: THE ARIZONA STATE MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM WILL PRACTICE FROM 2:30-4 P.M. ON MONDAY AT WELLS FARGO ARENA.
